"Ecstasy is a glass full of tea and a piece of sugar in the mouth." Alexander Pushin
There is a little tree that is set up all year in my house. Once upon a time, I changed out the ornaments, ribbons, etc. every month to go with the events planned during that month. It became a lot of work for someone who still teaches full time and, to be honest, for someone who has less energy as I 'mature'. Now, I change the tree only 4-6 times per year. This Spring, I decided to forgo the bunnies and eggs I did last year and focus on a 'winged' and tea theme.
There are butterflies and birds (always near and dear to my heart) and small teacup and teapot ornaments given to me or purchased over the years.
I bought the little shamrock teacup for myself. I am Irish and couldn't resist.
I love the saying on the tag ornament below. So very true!
Edited to add that I am linking up to these lovely Tea Blog linky parties:

DeleteWhat a lovely idea Karen, I love my Christmas tree and have it up for such a long time..... maybe I need an 'occasion tree' too?

Thank you, Nicole. I think your children would love to help you think of themes and decorate with you (especially Liddy and Tilly). I always thought a tiny toys/dolls clothes theme would be cute but I never got around to it before my two wouldn't be interested.
DeleteWhat a cute little tree, Karen! I have the same little blue and white teacup although I haven't decorated a teacup tree for a couple of years. An 'occasion' tree is a wonderful idea although it does take time and energy to do that. Thanks so much for sharing and joining me for tea today. Enjoy your day.

It was my pleasure, Sandi. I enjoy your lovely blog and all your beautiful tea things.
DeleteWhat a fun post! I like the idea of having a tea themed tree up all year. Great way to show off all those tea "ornaments" we've been collecting! Happy Tea Day!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm off to check out your blog!
DeleteThank you for your recent visit as it brought me to your lovely blog. I've been interested in having a themed tree, but like you mentioned it is a lot of work changing it. Of course your tea themed tree piqued my interest. What a great way to display tiny teacup ornaments and other special trinkets. You wove the ribbon beautifully throughout the tree. I enjoyed looking at all of your unique ornaments.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words!
DeleteI'm visiting from Sandi's party. I had to after seeing your beautiful tree! Lovely, and so much fun. Love the fanciful pictures in your blog header, too.

ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how we are drawn to tiny replicas of things we like? I have always loved miniatures!
DeleteLove the theme and how you carried it off. Lovely.

DeleteOH such a lovely idea... love that little Irish cup and saucer... Changing the tree seasonally is perfect ... I have a little fairy tree that I alter from season to season and it really adds a little flare to house like yours which reminds me ..It's time for tea...Hugs
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have decorated this tree with faeries and lots of flowers in the past. I bet the one you alter seasonally is just beautiful!

DeleteYour teacup tree is adorable and the ribbon and birds make it that much more special.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I adore your beautiful day lilies. You have a beautiful blog!
DeleteOh Karen, your tree is adorable! What fun to have a tea themed tree. My favorite is the shamrock one, too, since I'm also Irish. Your tree must make you smile whenever you see it. I have a friend that decorates a large Christmas tree for the seasons. It saves her from having to haul it down each Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThank you! We used to have an elderly neighbor who left her large tree up all year decorated for Christmas because it made her happy! I understand that!
DeleteThanks for sharing your pretty tea tree. It's too sweet. I have a hard enough time decorating the Christmas tree so I'd never make with a tree for every month.
